Switzerland Trains
So Many Options....
Bernina Express

This premium panoramic train connects the north of Europe to its south – leading right through the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Rhaetian Railways. Without a hitch, the bright red train masters every ascent, offering unrivalled views not only of mountains and glaciers but also of palm trees.

Crossing the Alps in the Bernina Express certainly is one of the most spectacular ways to do it. Along the way, the Bernina Express rolls Hollywood-style over the 65-metre-high Landwasser Viaduct, the signature structure of the Rhaetian Railway and the UNESCO World Heritage site.

Altogether the train passes through 55 tunnels and over 196 bridges on its way from Chur to Tirano. Travellers are treated to marvellous sights during their journey, like the Montebello curve with a view of the Bernina massif, the Morteratsch glacier, the three lakes Lej Pitschen, Lej Nair and Lago Bianco, the Alp Grüm and the Brusio Circular Viaduct.

In over 90 years, this classic among the Swiss panoramic trains has never ceased to amaze its passengers.

The Glacier Express offers a journey for the senses – from the Engadine to the Matterhorn. On its relaxing drive from dazzling St. Moritz to equally sophisticated Zermatt, the Glacier Express delights travellers with scenic attractions and technical state-of-the-art achievements.

Gotthard Panorama Express

Starting at Lugano or Bellinzona, the journey takes travellers from the Mediterranean south right through the heart of Switzerland – and the Gotthard tunnel built in 1882 – over die Alps towards the north. En route, the church of Wassen can be seen from three different angles; thanks to the bold railway layout with its many loop tunnels it has become world-famous.

On a steamboat or modern motor vessel, passengers seamlessly continue via Flüelen across Lake Lucerne. Many locations steeped in history such as the Rütliwiese, the Schillerstein and Tell Chapel greet guests with their original Swiss charms. In the afternoon, Lucerne harbour – located right next to the famous Chapel Bridge – welcomes the travellers. Alternatively, travellers can stay on the panoramic train until Arth-Goldau with direct access to the network of the Rigi Railways. And by the way: The journey can easily be travelled in the opposite direction, too.

Interlocken Express

The journey is its own reward: the ride on the Luzern–Interlaken Express connects two world-famous destinations and draws to its close more quickly than one would like – guests could forever go on looking at the mountain panorama, turquoise lakes, and countless waterfalls that adorn the scenery.

Lucerne and Interlaken are no doubt two of Switzerland’s most popular tourist destinations. However, the most beautiful part is the route that connects them: climbing on board in Central Switzerland; sitting back and relaxing; arriving in the Jungfrau region duly impressed by breathtaking scenic splendour – all in just under two hours: That’s the Luzern–Interlaken Express.
